The Model 17 has long been the workhorse of the Andersen line of archtop guitars. Simply appointed, with careful attention to detail, but not as flashy as some models. This version has several features that make it unique. The red (or Adirondack) spruce top gives the guitar more than the usual amount of punch and volume. The one-piece curly western maple back is extremely rare on a guitar of this size. We've matched the back with a one-piece eastern hard maple neck. All the woods one this guitar are exceptional, both cosmetically and tonally. The pickup is an Armstrong, scale length is 25.4-inch, and finish is amber blonde. This is a loud, well-balanced guitar with a complex tonal character. A great example of the Andersen archtop sound.
