FRESH FISH #21
Little Archie
Serial No. 464
$7200

The Little Archie has proved to be a very popular model. Players appreciate the comfort of the small body, and are surprised at the big sound it produces. This guitar has a floating Kent Armstrong pickup and Waverly tuners. Body depth is 2.5", width is 14", scale length is 24.9".

The woods in this guitar are rather out of the ordinary for me. The back and sides are Eastern hard maple, which has a beautiful bold figure, and is also harder and denser than other maples. The top is very old Sitka. I generally prefer Engelmann, European or Red spruce for soundboards, but I thought this would be a good match for the Eastern maple, in both tone and appearance. The guitar is louder and a bit brighter than my typical Little Archie, and I attribute that to the woods.

This guitar features an updated version of the tailpiece, you can see it on the close-ups page.
