This is the first of what I expect will become a standard Andersen model. I've had a number of inquiries in recent years for an archtop with a mounted pickup, as opposed to the floating version that I normally offer. I've built several 17" archtops with this pickup configuration, and the response from players has been very positive. So, in quizzing a number of players about what they might want in a guitar of this type, I decided on the following specifications for this Fresh Fish:

The pickup on this guitar is a Kent Armstrong humbucker, and it has volume and tone controls mounted in the face. I chose very simple ornamentation, which contrasts nicely with the highly figured maple back and sides. The wide grain engelmann top produces a nice warm acoustic sound, and plugged in, this guitar sounds great- a warm, classic jazz guitar sound.

The combination of the body size and the 24.9" scale makes this a very comfortable guitar to play.
